NASA's space shuttle "Discovery" is shooting towards the orbit. Today the boy can express his enthusiasm and need to understand the physical universe only by emulating the launch with his bucket of sand.

Even though the pioneering shuttle program is shutting down soon, it has helped to develop the technology needed to make the space inhabitable, and inspired a new generation of pioneers.

When I am sitting in my rocking-chair I expect this boy to show us some mind-blowing things about outer space.

A free-flowing painting, with emphasis on colours and concept. Also used sea salt for some texture fun :)

It's my entry for "High Frontier" contest [link] (You should take part as well, there should be more participants -- the theme is cool and the prizes are fab!)

Thanks *Kuume for helping me out with the concept.

Stop being so prolific - I start feeling lazy ;P

Have a look at this, will you [link]

He might be using too subdued colours for you, but you could like the works, I think.

 I'm glad you think so. I feel I was able to express something very deep in this. I would've never thought of expressing it as a painting without your contest -- so thank you! :thanks:

Oh yes, lovely stuff there :)

And no worries, I'll probably not be able to upload this much stuff next week ;)

I have to try and be neutral as a judge but I like it.

Yes, of course. Glad to hear anyways :)

I saw this once when I was in Florida. I was across the sound in Cocoa.
Even from 5 miles away, it was about the coolest thing I've ever seen.
This picture captures exactly what it feels like to see it - you want to fly, but you can't, so you make something else fly.

*Lechtonen, you rock.

Wow, wonderful to get that kind of feedback. I've never witnessed anything like it, so yeah, greatly appreciated :thanks:
